Meet David Kiehn

David's interest in the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway stems from his extensive career with the Santa Fe (and then with the merged Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway) which began in 1956 until his retirement on 01 January 2001 and 44 years of service.

His early days were spent in the Santa Fe's Passenger Department (1956-1971) where he was employed in positions including Reservation Information Clerk, Cashier, Ticket Clerk, Depot Passenger Agent, and City Ticket Agent.

After Amtrak took over Santa Fe's passenger train operations, he was transferred to the Freight Traffic Department, and served in the capacities of Sales Representative, Area Sales Representative, Senior Account Representative, National Account Manager, Market Manager, and others.

During his illustrious career with the Santa Fe, David has worked in several locations around the ATSF System including Chicago, Cincinnati, Fort Madison, New Orleans, and Memphis.
