Background

     These are 125-ton-truck (intermediate) 5-unit articulated double-stack cars with 48' wells. The railcars were created for intermodal terminals which handle 40' to 53' containers. This means greater capacity for a terminal which contains domestic outbound and international inbound containers.
     The railcar has capacity of two 20' or one 40', one 45', or one 48' containers in the bottom position, and one 40' to one 53' container in the top position. There are 70-ton trucks on the ends of the car, and 125-ton trucks in all intermediate positions.
     It is of the DS-9 class, and of the TWG52B TTX-class.
