

In August 2003, Athearn
brought to the marketplace the first of the revamped products from the former Rail Power Products company.
The first of the products was the EMD GP60M locomotive, decorated for
the Atchison, Topeka, and Santa Fe Railway in the Warbonnet paint scheme, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in the Warbonnet
paint scheme, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway in the Heritage II paint scheme, and the special Maersk paint
scheme. The model was placed in the company's Ready-to-Roll™ line.
New features of the GP60M model include:
