Update - 18 December 2006

Hi folks,

I just wanted to give you an update on the SDF40-2 project.

1) Thank you all who have gotten their deposits into me. We are still
short funds to get this project to the master builder. If you have
not received payment arrangements from me for your down payment
please let me know and I will get either a .PDF invoice or a PayPal
invoice to you. I am hoping to get a check off to the master builder
by this week so your assistance is much appreciated.

2) Variants - we have decided to market this kit differently than I
had originally proposed:

- HL-14 will now be the SDP40F Amtrak Variant. It will have
the peaked nose, no stepwell notch and steam generator details
- HL-29 will be the SDF40-2 Santa Fe Variant. It will have
the flat nose, notched stepwell, no steam generator details and an
insert to allow the modeler to model the non-notched stepwell
variant. The HL-29 will encompass any other changes that were made
after they purchased the units from Amtrak.

Your commitment orders will be adjusted accordingly. If anyone would
like to change their orders based on this new information, please do
not hesitate to ask.

3) Chassis - An Athearn Genesis SD50 has been shipped to the master
builder for use in building the body shells.

That's about it. Thanks again for all your support and your deposits.
I wish you all the best over the holidays and look forward to
delivering SDP40F/SDF40-2's to you in the New Year.
