John Hake reported (05/03/97):"Today sitting outside of the gate at Mid America Car in Kansas City is former ATSF 557 which was at mid am for a paint job. It is still in red and silver, however there are 2 modifications to the paint. The BNSF on the side is still in red, however it is of the size ot the logo on the sides of the pumpkin units. In addition the number on the side of the cab is of a very plain font and is about twice as tall as the older version. I was not impressed with either of these changes."
